Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera said that the existing National Fuel Pass (QR) system, which existed for more than one year, was discontinued with effect from midnight yesterday (1).
The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has reached this decision considering that the demand for fuel can be satisfied now.
The National Fuel Pass system was implemented at all fuel filling stations of both the CEYPETCO and LIOC across the country in August 2022 in response to the fuel shortage caused by the economic crises faced by the country.
