Happy MOTHER’S DAY

10 May, 2021

We all love our mothers very much and they are so precious to us .Mother’s day gives us the chance to celebrate our mothers and show them how much we appreciate them. But children, also remember that our love and appreciation of our mothers should not be limited to Mother’s Day only. It should be there at all times.

Mother’s day is generally celebrated on the second Sunday in May each year but it can vary from country to country. In Sri Lanka it is celebrated on the second Sunday in May so today, May 9 is Mother;s Day.

The tradition of Mother’s day started in the USA and was established there by Ann Reeves Jarvis. who celebrated the first ever Mother’s day in Grafton, West Virginia in 1908. USA President Woodrow Wilson made it a national Holiday in 1914.

My mother is my world

My mother was my first contact after coming to this world, it is similar for everyone. She taught me how to speak, take care of myself and the bigger steps I have taken in my life is all because of my mother. My mother’s name is Ruchira Perera. She is a Science teacher in government service.

My mother is the essence of truthfulness, love and sincerity. She encourages me to improve my all-round skills and studies. She motivates me to try again and again till I am successful. My mother does all the housework, she remains busy throughout the day but she also devotes herself to the care of me and all family members. She works from dawn to dusk every day without any benefit other than keeping family members happy. She gives us everything but never demands anything in return.

She is a kind lady. She doesn’t like animals such as cats dogs because they have fur and she can’t touch their fur but she doesn’t hurt them. My mother can do many things. She is superb at cooking, dressmaking, handicrafts and landscaping. I helpi my mother to cook delicious sweets and to keep the house clean. My mother is the central figure in our home and also she is the backbone of my family. Last week my mother had to quarantine herself so we had to live without her. It was a very hard time for me and the other family members. Without my mother I can’t imagine how to live? The way she cares for everyone in the family inspires me to do the same in the future.

My mother is the most beautiful woman. And she is the strongest woman in my life, she is my teacher and my best friend. She is a perfect blend of virtues. To say the least, every step that I have taken in my life is because of my Amma. My mother is my super heroine.

She plays a vital role in shaping my life.I love my mother as much as my life.

Mothers are really precious and we should cherish them.
