 Dr. BG will send Rs. 500 Mn Letter of Demand claiming damages against Locomotive Unionist

Transport, Highways and Mass Media Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardhana said that he will lodge complaints with the Criminal Investigation Department and the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery Or Corruption (CIABOC) against the false allegations made by Railway Locomotive unionist Indika Dodangoda yesterday.

Dodangoda alleged that Minister Dr. Gunawardhana has received Rs.50 Mn as a bribe from an Indian company and that he is one of the most corrupt Ministers in the country. The Minister will send a Letter of Demand to Dodangoda claiming Rs.500 Mn as damages. The Minister mentioned that Dodangoda is a person who has allegations over overtime claims and train ticket irregularities in the Railway Department.

The Minister also mentioned that he has done great service to the country as a teacher, writer and award-winning film producer.

The Minister emphasized that it is the national responsibility of media to telecast both sides of the story. The Minister said that anyone can say anything but media should not allow interested parties to use them to tarnish characters of innocent persons.

The Minister stated this while attending a press conference held yesterday (14) at the Government Information Department.
