One of the landmark buildings in the heart of Ja-Ela town, the ‘K- Zone’, a multi facility shopping centre, is to be completely demolished and John Keells Properties (JKP) will build a modern apartment complex ‘Viman’ on the property.
“The K Zone is on a six-acre property and as we see a demand for housing we decided to do away with the K Zone and build our latest residential venture, ‘Viman’, redefining contemporary living in the heart of Ja-Ela,” said President of the Property Sector at John Keells Holdings PLC, Nayana Mawilmada.
“‘Viman’ stands as another initiative by us offering modern comforts in 418 apartments, designed to establish a secure, family-friendly environment.
‘Viman’ will have 10 towers that embrace eco-consciousness, accessibility to various locations, and a nurturing sense of community,” he said.
Total investment commitment for Viman including the land value (appropriately Rs. 2 billion) would be Rs. 7 billion.
The construction will commence early next year and is due to be completed in around 36 months.
Head of Sales and Marketing, JKP, Nadeem Shums said, “Viman’s close proximity to the Colombo Port access highway is a distinct advantage, enhancing connectivity between Ja-Ela and Colombo ensuring efficient short travel for residents and businesses linking Ja-ela North with Colombo North.”
Viman will feature energy-efficient solar-powered homes helping to save on the monthly electricity bill.
Within walking distance to the Colombo-Negombo main road, ‘Viman’ offers a central garden, a swimming pool, gymnasium, meditation courts, clubhouse, a kids play area, cycling and walking spaces, and a multipurpose outdoor sports court, along with electric vehicle charging stations and array of other modern amenities.
