Three Sri Lankan athletes one of whom won a gold medal at the Asia Pacific Region Bodybuilding and Body Modelling 2023 Championship held in Japan returned to the country on Thursday.
Over 300 athletes from 23 countries contested the event held in Tokyo on September 16 and 17 where Sri Lanka’s Chandana de Silva won a gold medal in the under 70-75 kg category.
In addition, Tharanga Sanjeeva and Shamika Fernando finished in fourth places.
Ruwan Ranasinghe, who also represented Sri Lanka in this meet and competed in the over-50 event also won a gold medal.
