The Medical Supply Department (MSD) has the necessary test kits to prevent the spread of the Nipah virus, Director Kapila Wickremanayake said yesterday (26).
He stated that there is no risk of this virus spreading in Sri Lanka and people should not have undue fear about it. He declared that there is an outbreak of this virus in the neighbouring Indian State of Kerala, so the Health Department is paying attention to this closely.
