The Government of Sri Lanka is working to expedite the negotiations with three countries for Free Trade Agreements.Acting Finance Minister Shehan Semasinghe said the slow negotiations regarding the re-establishment of free trade agreements with three economically important countries for Sri Lanka, namely India, China and Thailand, were speeded up.
Semasinghe expressed confidence that with the establishment of these free trade agreements, there will be exceptional speed in attracting foreign direct investment to Sri Lanka.
The Minister said that he believes that creating a more suitable environment for investors will enable them to achieve sustainable economic growth and that he will work to establish bilateral free trade agreements soon.
