Nuwara Eliya District Secretary Nandana Galabada said in a special statement that it is strictly forbidden to visit Sri Pada during off-season without permission. The District Secretary said some media persons have reported that the chief incumbent of the Sri Pada has given permission to visit Sri Pada but this was completely false.
The District Secretary said that visitors to Sri Pada during off season should first seek permission from their respective institutions and then the Nallathanniya and Ratnapura Police stations have to approve such requests.
He said only those with such approvals will be allowed to visit Sri Pada.
