Sri Lanka Customs seized 35 Kilograms of Hashish worth Rs.42 million after inspecting four parcels sent to Sri Lanka from Italy, Customs Director Seevali Arukgoda said. The four parcels containing the drugs were labeled as food stuff and were sent to Sri Lanka from Italy as gifts through Door2Door service. In the seized parcels, biscuits, pasta and other food items were also found and the hashish stock was found among them.The suspects related to this have not yet been arrested and the Police Narcotics Bureau is conducting further investigations.
