President Ranil Wickremesinghe while rejecting the allegations levelled in the Channel 04 documentary yesterday stressed that the government will not conduct international inquiries on any issue including  the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks. He added that he has appointed a committee to inquire into allegations made in the documentary aired on Channel 04.

President Wickremesinghe during an interview with Germany’s Deutsche Welle, said that few people may have asked an international inquiry but Parliament has not sought such an inquiry.

“I forgot to tell you, the FBI reports, which say that no one outsider was involved in the attacks. We had the FBI, we had the, British Police, we had the Australians, we had the Indians, we had the Chinese, all there and the Pakistanis”, he added.

Speaking to Marin Gak from German broadcaster Deutsche Welle, the President said that secret service agencies have given reports with regard to Easter Sunday attacks.“ If the FBI has come in, if the Indians have come in, if the English have come in, if the Australians have come in, if the Chinese have come in, and if those secret service agencies have given reports, then what are you saying? Well, What I am saying is you are talking nonsense,” the President added.
