Education Minister Dr. Susil Premajayantha said in Parliament yesterday (3) that the Examinations Commissioner General will make a statement regarding the dates when the General Certificate of Advanced Level examination will be held, in the next two days.
The Minister said that it is not the Minister’s job to set the date for the examination and the Examinations Commissioner General will perform his duties at the right time.
The Minister said this while replying to the question asked by Matara District MP Buddhika Pathirana of the Samagi Jana Balavegaya (SJB).
The minister said further that the date of the examination was fixed in July, for November and the exam will not be held before that and there is no way to move the exam ahead of the scheduled date, but only beyond.
The Minister said that there is no reason for the children to be under pressure regarding the dates of this examination.
