The English Service of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) celebrated its 73rd anniversary on Monday, October 2. The Director, English service Ms. Indira Nawagamuwa and the staff organised the Golden Memories Awards Ceremony 2023 at the Kumaratunga Studio of SLBC to mark the occasion.
Ten veteran presenters – Dr. Vijaya Corea, Mrs. Myrle Williams, Arun Dias Bandaranaike, Faizal Bongso, Dudley Jansz, Ms. Tilani Peiris, Ms. Indranee Senanayake, Ms. Fathima Cader and Kumar Samuel, were honoured for their service and the dedication to uplift the English Service of the SLBC.
A special award was presented to SLBC chairman Hudson Samarasinghe for his tireless efforts to improve the service.
