“It’s only when the last tree has been cut down, only when the last drop of water has been drained out of our rivers, it’s only then man will realise that money cannot be eaten,” says a Native American proverb.
Thousands of wild animals and plants are being destroyed by selfish man. Some animals and plants are endangered and risk being lost forever. We have to preserve the balance of our eco-system, if we and the future generations are to survive.
There are many people who work to protect our environment. As children, we also can do many things to protect nature.
A few are planting trees, picking up garbage and recycling it as much as possible, walk or ride your bicycle to school, make compost from leftover food and minimise the use of plastic. Items made of plastic such as toys, polythene book covers and plastic bottles should be used minimally.
In this way we can all help to make the world a better place. The whole world should work together to save mother earth.
