School excursions are like mini adventures that take us away from our everyday classroom routines. I recently went on a school excursion and it was the most enjoyable day ever!
Our school took us to places such as the planetarium, Galle Face and Water World. I was so thrilled, when I heard that we were going to visit some of my favourite places.
Before the big day, my classmates and I got ready. We wore comfortable clothes and packed our backpacks. Some of us even bought sunglasses and beautiful hats.
We all boarded a big bus early in the morning at around 5.30. I sat with my friends and we sang songs and played games during the ride. It was great fun. We shared our breakfast with each other in the bus.
We headed towards the planetarium. I could not believe my eyes when we arrived there. It was amazing and the show was realistic and helped us greatly for Science education. The show was about the planets and there was also the story of Neil Armstrong’s historic moon landing. Next when we arrived at Galle Face, we had a nice chat together and played fun games.
Our teachers took great care of us. We also had our lunch there. The next destination was the Water World. I was astonished by the view of adorable fish with different colours. There was a Bird Park which was eye catching. I realised how nature has gifted us with such beautiful things.
As the day came to an end, we gathered to say goodbye to Water World. I felt grateful for this wonderful experience and all the new things I learned.
My school excursion to Colombo was the best day ever. I had so much fun exploring nature and spending time with my friends. I can’t wait for our next adventure and I will always remember this amazing day. Excursions are not just about learning. They are about making special memories.
