The Earth is the only planet in the universe known to support life. It is a living planet, with plenty of water, trees, plants and breathable air, protected by its atmosphere.
It is the third planet from the Sun and it is the largest of the four rocky inner planets. Oceans, at least four kilometres deep, cover nearly 70 percent of the Earth’s surface. It has one moon, which is the only other place to be visited by people from Earth. It takes the Earth 365 days and six hours to orbit the Sun. We are lucky to have a wonderful planet like the Earth.
