The centenary celebrations of the Sri Lanka Railway Station Masters’ Association, one of the oldest State sector trade unions in the country, were held at a leading hotel in Colombo recently.
The trade union which was founded in 1923 as ‘Ceylon Railway Station Masters Union’ was later named as Sri Lanka Station Masters’ Association.
Here State Minister of Transport Lasantha Alagiyawanna who was the Chief Guest at the ceremony lights the oil lamp. Railway General Manager W.A.D. S. Gunasinghe, Additional Railway General Manager (Infrastructure) Engineer H.M.K. W. Bandara and President of Railway Station Master’s Association Sumedha Somaratne were also present.
