The Cricket World Cup commenced in India on October 5 and produced as many as nine century makers within the first five days as South Africa set the record for the highest total in the history off World Cups that stands at 428 in 50 overs in their opening match against Sri Lanka.
The occasion also produced another record breaking feat when South Africa batsman Aiden Markram made the fastest century in World Cup history reaching a hundred in just 49 balls against Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka also had the dubious record of conceding the highest run chase when Pakistan went past a target of 344.
From the looks of it New Zealand, India, South Africa and England can count on securing semi final berths given their current form in the World Cup.
