Just Hockey Australia, the hockey equipment suppliers, has teamed up with Colombo Malay Cricket Club (CMCC) to help nurture young enthusiastic hockey players from TB Jayah Zahira College Colombo 2.
The under-15 boys from the school took part in their first tournament held recently at the Astro Turf organized by the Colombo International Hockey Academy for U-15 boys and girls.
Just Hockey Australia donated Mazon hockey equipment to the value of AU$3000 through the mediation of veterans Ian Jennings and Mohan Raj Selvaratnam, who tours with their COSMOS team every other year.
Cosmopolitan Hockey Club from Melbourne (COSMOS) incidentally has toured the country on three previous occasions, which implies their support for hockey and the Colombo Malay CC.
The COSMOS does not tour any country more than once comprising veteran players of an early vintage and made a special appearance for the CMCC 150th Sesquicentennial Celebrations in October 2022.
