The Sri Lankan contingent comprising of Navithmee Perera, Sanuthmee Perera (Visakha Vidyalaya and Diyawanna Rowing Academy), Menoli Yatigammana (Diyawanna Rowing Academy), Havishka Perera (Gold medal from British School and Diyawanna Rowing Academy),Tashiya Perera (Gold medal from Diyawanna Rowing Academy), Jaanya Kumarawadu (Gold medal from Gateway College), Ganindu Kirinde (Gold medal from Gateway College), Reshil Peiris (Gold medal from Gateway College), Nathon Gregory (Bronze medal from Gateway College). Derion Spittel (Silver medal from Wesley College), Dimitri Nalliah (Bronze medal from Wesley College), Oshada Haputhenna (Bronze medal from Wesley College) Sulaiman Saleem (Wesley College), Kester Weerasinghe (Silver medal from Wesley College) and Sanija Ganewatte (Silver medal from Wesley College).They were coached by Nirmal Gunaratne

A group of 15 athletes from Colombo schools took part in the Varsity Boat Races held in Putrajaya, Malaysia from October 3 to 8 and were able to win medals in the meet organized by the Ministry of Higher Education in Malaysia.
The Sri Lankan students were able to bag nine medals that included Gold, Silver and Bronze and they were coached by Nirmal Gunaratne.
They are products of the British School in Colombo, Gateway College, Wesley College, Visakha Vidyalaya and the Diyawanna Rowing Academy and took part in the junior women single scull, junior women double scull, junior men single scull and junior men double scull events.
The event had a participation of around 400 students from universities and schools in Asia.
