Pothupitiya MV’s long jump champion felicitated

Promising athlete MD Nethara a student of Pothupitiya MV Kalutara won first place in the Under-16 long jump event at the Sir John Tarbet Senior Athletic Championship 2023 organized by the Sri Lanka Schools Athletic Association and the Ministry of Education at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo last month.

She was given a ceremonial welcome in a colourful procession along with her parents and coach Lahiru Jayashantha along with the school’s teacher in charge of sports Arosha Mendis.

Her sporting potential and the fame and glory brought to the school by her was highly rated by the school’s principal Pushpa Kanthi at the felicitation ceremony.
