In an anti-climax India beat Pakistan by seven wickets in their World Cup match at Ahamadabad yesterday contrary to expectations. Pakistan put into bat were at one stage sitting pretty at 155 for 2 and then lost eight wickets for just 36 runs to be all out for 191 much to the dismay of all World Cup followers.
Babar Azam (50) and Mohamad Rizwan (49) put on a stand of 82 runs for the third wicket but with the dismissal of Azam the collapse began.
India had no difficulty in reaching the target against some sub-standard bowling.
