Prof. Lakshan Witharana of Melbourne, Australia yesterday hailed President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s appeal to world leaders to come together to create world peace, during his recent visit to China.
The President’s appeal to world leaders has come at a time the world powers must contribute to the immediate end of the war between Israel and Palestine, said Prof. Witharana.
The world should strive towards achieving harmony and prosperity as one human race, and there should be no killings among one another, he said.
“The war between Israel and Palestine should be stopped immediately,” he said.
Organisations such as the United Nations must take the lead to alleviate the extremely dangerous military conflicts around the world that hinder the progress of human development, he said.
World leaders have a great responsibility to work in unity more than ever before to ensure global freedom and harmony for everyone, he said.
