Action at the Rugby World Cup 2023 in France could not have been any better than it was best witnessed especially at the four quarter finals featuring Wales versus Argentina, Ireland versus New Zealand, England against Fiji and host nation France taking on defending champions South Africa.
The rugby spectacle dished out was fit for a king in the four quarter final games as Argentina booked their place for a semi final against New Zealand’s famed All Blacks team while England had to throw in everything to stop a determined Fiji outfit to book a date with South Africa in the other semi final.
Argentina is yet to enter a World Cup final and they made a most remarkable comeback in the second half to turn tables and beat Wales 29-17 as the veteran Nicholas Sanchez scored a try under the posts for a simple conversion in the dying moments of the contest to put the issue beyond doubt.
Until that time Wales were pressing for what would have been their match deciding try after setting up play in the Argentina half and trailing 17-22. While the ultimate winner cannot be predicted, some experts point out to South Africa taking on New Zealand in the final on October 29 at the Stade de France stadium with kick-off scheduled for 12.30 am Sri Lanka time.
