A diverse industry representation of Sri Lankan businesses led by the Sri Lanka-Malaysia Business Council (SLMBC) of The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) lead by President M.H.K.M Hameez will be visiting Kuala-Lumpur, Malaysia from today to November 2. The delegation includes entrepreneurs, business executives, start-ups and officials engaged in business and trade between the two friendly nations.
The delegation is due to meet several business chambers, state and private enterprises, government and diplomatic officials and are hosted at the Corus Hotel in KL Sentral. The mission aims at strengthening bi-lateral business ties to promote new business ventures between Sri Lanka and Malaysia. The SLMBC has a membership of 100 and has been working closely with Malaysian and Sri Lankan companies trading between the two nations for almost 25 years. Earlier this month SLMBC successfully hosted a CEO business forum and a panel discussion in Colombo with the Malaysian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dato Seri Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir as the Chief Guest
The Sri Lanka–Malaysia Business Council was inaugurated in February, 1994 under the aegis of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce at the request of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka. The main objective of this Council is to promote joint ventures in trade, tourism and services between Sri Lanka and Malaysia with the key objectives to promote trade, tourism and services between Sri Lanka and Malaysia and in particular to promote exports from Sri Lanka to Malaysia, To encourage the establishment of joint ventures in Sri Lanka between Malaysian and Sri Lankan investors.
