One day, all the animals in the forest were rather frightened to see a blue animal among them. The strange animal made no sound or spoke to anyone. As a result, no one was able to communicate with him. Most of the small animals began to worship the blue animal but the bigger animals kept their distance.
The blue animal thought that all the other animals were scared of him and he could even become their king. However, he soon realised that the lion was their king. Sometimes, even the lion found it difficult to control the elephants who were much bigger than him.
The blue animal did not see the lion who was sleeping in his den. Even the elephants had gone for a bath in the nearby river.
A hungry blue animal
After walking in the forest for a long time, the blue animal felt very hungry. Nobody offered him anything to eat because they did not know who he was. Even the strange animal did not want to speak for fear of being identified.
In the meantime, some animals complained to the lion that a strange animal was roaming in the forest.
Being the king he did not want to meet the strange blue animal. However, he sent a message to the blue animal to see him in his den.
The blue animal got scared when he came to know that the lion was looking forward to meeting him. As there was no alternative, he decided to visit the lion’s den.
The lions den
When he visited the lion’s den, the king was having a nap after lunch. The blue animal tapped on the door thinking that the lion would come out. However, the lion asked in a loud voice: “Who’s at the door?”
The blue animal said, “It’s me.”
“What do you mean? Don’t you have a name?” the lion shouted back.
“You don’t know me, Your Majesty, I’ve come from another planet.”
“What are you talking? You have a familiar voice. Tell me who you are.”
“Your Majesty, I am Narihamy fox but I have changed my colour to blue. As a result, other animals can’t identify me. Please save me from this situation,” the blue animal pleaded.
The lion popped his head out of the den and asked the strange animal: “How did you turn blue?”
“Your Majesty, I fell into a tub of blue paint.”
“Now, run to the river and wash the paint away. Then you will become a fox again,” said the lion. When he was heading for the river, all the other animals started chasing him. The fox jumped into the river and disappeared.
