Zahira boys outsmart the rest to win Soccer Sevens

Zahira College outsmarted some of the top schools to win their 17th Zahira Super 16 Soccer Sevens championship last week at the Race Course ground in Colombo.

They were the best against schools like Royal College, S. Thomas’ College, St. Joseph’s College, De Mazenod College, St. Benedict’s College, Maris Stella College, Jaffna Central College, Isipathana College, Gateway College and several other schools and beat Alethea International School in the final.

Mufaddal Ziyard of Zahira College received the Most Valuable Player award, TB Jayah Zahira College’s Z.H.M. Amru received the Most Popular Player award and the Player of the Final award was taken away by Zahira College’s Abdul Azeez.

Umar Shakil of Gateway College received the Highest Goal Keeper award and M.M.A. Musthaq of Zahira College received the Best Goal Keeper award.

The main sponsor of the tournament NOLIMIT Marketing Manager Fawaz Mohamed presented the champions trophy, cash award and gold medals to the winning team captain Mufaddad Ziyard and members.
