Sri Lanka will face a testing time against giant killers Afghanistan when the two teams meet on Monday in their World Cup match in Pune.
Both teams have just remote chances of making it to the semi finals but the match has plenty of interest after Afghanistan beat Pakistan following their win over the defending champions England.
Sri Lanka on the other hand have made a tantalizing return to competitive ODI cricket after losing to South Africa, Pakistan and Australia and then beating the hapless England team in their last outing.
Overall Sri Lanka have yet to click as a batting unit while the bowlers have delivered in patches and the match against Afghanistan may serve as a test for what could be in store ahead for the team in the remaining matches against Bangladesh, India and New Zealand.
Sri Lanka is likely to retain the same team of Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Perera, Kusal Mendis, Sadeera Samarawickrema, Charith Asalanka, Angelo Mathews, Dhananjaya de Silva, Mahesh Theekshana, Kasun Rajitha, Lahiru Kumara and Dilshan Madushanka.
