Ceylinco Life has invested in the acquisition and renovation of a building in Matugama, to provide this scenic locality in the Kalutara district with an eco-friendly branch that complies with the specifications of the company’s flagship Green branches.

The new branch at Nabada Road, Matugama is the 32nd branch to function in a company-owned building, and the fourth of its kind in the Kalutara district, a Company spokesman said.
The renovation and modification of the building provides 1,800 square feet of space for planet-friendly operation, with a10kW on-grid solar power system and a 5kW off-grid battery backup power system that minimise consumption of electricity from, and supplies excess electricity to, the national grid.
It is also equipped with the latest energy-efficient lighting and air conditioning systems, and has been re-designed for optimal use of natural light. The use of timber was minimised in the renovation and new trees were planted in the premises.
The new branch has dedicated car parking slots, a spacious customer lounge, and personal discussion rooms. Among the Ceylinco Life owned branch buildings are those in Anuradhapura, Trincomalee, Jaffna, Batticaloa, Kandy, Kalutara, Kurunegala, Gampaha, Galle, Matara, Tissamaharama, Negombo, Ratnapura, Kotahena, Mount Lavinia, and Wellawatte, many of which have already been converted to solar energy.
Among the new branch buildings purpose-built to the company’s sustainable energy model are those at Horana, Panadura, Wennappuwa, Bandarawela, Chilaw, Kadawatha, Jaffna, Malabe, Divulapitiya, Negombo, Nelliady, Piliyandala and Ja-Ela, and the Company is constructing a Green building for its branch in Minuwangoda.
