child mental health and career guidance program at Yasodara Vidyalaya

The Lion Ladies of 306C1 are carrying out a series of programs aimed at uplifting child mental health and providing career guidance for school-leavers. The third phase was held at Yasodara Vidyalaya, Colombo. Specialist, Human Skills Development Trainer, Sanath Gamage conducted an informative and interactive session for the students.

The series of programs is the brainchild of the First Lady of Lions 306 C1 Dilrukshi Dabare.

Dr. Udeni Rajapakse handled the organisation. Principal, Niluka Saman Kumari and Vice Principal, Anusha Dilrukshi supported the program.

Lion Ladies Association ,District 306 C1 had earlier conducted similar programs at Somadevi Vidyalaya, Kotikawatta and Mahamathya Vidyalaya, Malabe.

Seven schools were invited for the program at Yasodara Vidyalaya, Colombo 08.

They were Devi Balika Vidyalaya, Susamayawardana Vidyalaya, Rathnavali Balika Vidyalaya, Ananda Balika, Seewali Madya Maha Vidyalaya, Clifton Balika Vidyalaya and All Saints’ Balika.

Scholarships amounting to

Rs. 48,000 per two years were awarded to four students each and Lion Ladies presented posters and books relating to child abuse to Yasodara Vidyalaya and the invitee schools.
