Pakistan kept their hopes alive of entering the semi finals of the Cricket World Cup when they beat New Zealand by 21 runs on the DLS rule after their match was halted by rain in Bengalura yesterday.

New Zealand made a total of 401 for 6 and in replay Pakistan were 201 for 1 in 25.3 overs when rain brought play to an end for a second time that made the resumption of play impossible.
