Lanka Powerboat Association (LPA) will make history by organizing the first ever Motor Surf World Championship scheduled to take place from November 17 to 19 at the Beira Lake in front of Cinnamon Lakeside in Colombo.
The LPA is organizing this event to coincide with its tenth anniversary of its affiliation with the world governing body known as Union International Motonautique (UMI). This event will also make Sri Lanka a significant country for the promotion of the sport for power boat racing enthusiastic people.

Throughout the 10-year period Sri Lanka have come a long way in organizing national and international training programs in the past.
The Motor Surf World Championship and the establishment of Power Boat Experience center at Cinnamon Lakeside hotel, marks an important milestone for Sri Lanka in its journey to become a prominent water sports destination.
