The Sri Lanka Economic Summit 2023 conducted by The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will be held from November 28-29.

Session 4 will explore the most effective means to achieving consensus to sustain reforms and growth.

It will delve into several topics including the cost of corruption to businesses and the public, the incorporation of governance reforms alongside macroeconomic reforms, and strategies to enhance institutional effectiveness, productivity, independence, and accountability.

The session will bring together a panel of experts to shed light on the reforms necessary to accelerate growth beyond an IMF program.– Partner and South Asia Delivery Excellence Leader Deloitte,VishwasUdgirkarwill present the session, with State Minister of FinanceShehanSemasinghe, MPDr. HariniAmarasuriya, MP and Chair of the Committee on Public Finance, Dr. Harsha De Silva, and Executive Director of Transparency International Sri Lanka,Ms. NadishaniPererawill comprise the panel, with Executive Director of Verite Research, Dr. Nishan de Mel, serving as the moderator.

The session will explore the multifaceted challenges and opportunities facing Sri Lanka in the pursuit of sustained economic reforms and growth, with participants gaining valuable insights into tackling corruption, optimising governance, and enhancing the effectiveness and accountability of institutions.
