The Executive Committee, Sri Lanka–Korea Business Council (SLKBC) of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce hosted a dinner meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Sri Lanka, Miyon Lee recently.
The meeting covered a wide range of topics including enhancing collaboration and taking proactive measures to explore and leverage trade and investment opportunities. Lee welcomed the opportunity to work closely with the SLKBC to enhance bilateral relations and economic ties.
Discussions also focused on how the Council can actively contribute to and participate in implementing the Indo-Pacific Strategy, as well as the 2030 Busan Work Expo which would provide an important platform for sustainable and long-lasting economic cooperation between Korea and Sri Lanka.
President of SLKBC, Asitha Martis outlined the importance of interactions such as the dinner meeting, as they play a crucial role in strengthening bilateral relations and addressing important issues facing the business communities of both countries.
Research Officer Byeon Jeonghun, Director General of KOTRA, Joo Hong Son, President of Korean Businessman’s Association, H. K. Kwak,Vice Chairman of Korean Businessman’s Association, T. W. Lee, and representatives ofthe Sri Lanka–Korea Business Council, Vice Presidents Shamil Mendis and Kunendran, Immediate Past President, Priyantha Mendis, Mahen Kariyawasan, John Shiran Dissanayake, Rohitha Mendis, Sangeeth Weliwatta, Ms. Imasha Pasqual, Kalinga De Silva, Dinithi Dias and Yashodha Fernando were also present.
