Viraj to come back to KSC
Viraj Prasanna the well known figure in rugby as coach and player who was one time forwards coach of Kandy Sports Club is tipped to come back to his former position.
Viraj Prasana like in early days is vastly experienced in the coaching field having functioned as forwards coach for schools and clubs.
Alex Lazarus remembered
Alex Lazarus will be remembered for his good work in the field of rugby next week. At the time of his death he was the Director of Sports at Trinity College after serving as the senior boarding house master.
It was under his coaching in 1987 and captaincy of Tyrell Rajapakse that Trinity College won the school League championship. He died at the age of 71 years.
Alex Lazarus started as a prop forward at Trinity College in the mid 1960s and his final year was 1967, got his rugby colours in 1966.
After leaving school he played for CH & FC and after a good display crossed over to Kandy Lake Club from where he ended up at Kandy RFC. He later played for Kandy Sports Club and for Up-Country.
