Former Sri Lankan cricketer Arvinda de Silva, who was named as one of the greatest players in the history of world cricket by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and inducted into its Hall of Fame arrived in the country with his award on Friday.
“I remember my parents, teachers, friends who helped me during my difficult times as well as my cricket fans around the world,” said Aravinda on his return.
Referring to the Sri Lanka team’s debacle at the World Cup now taking place in India, the batting maestro said: “Everyone should learn a lesson from this defeat. We need to start playing as a team and make long term plans apart from short term plans. For that, the players should be given the right guidance and support”.
