Words: Jonathan Frank

What a hectic couple of weeks it has been.

So much is taking place in our tiny country. The people have finally started to wake up!

Also Amanda had finally met the man of his dreams and I’m so excited for them.

Just yesterday, a huge number of our friends surrounded the State Petroleum Company and demanded the government not to sell it to a multinational company and the employees walked out in solidarity with us. But the police showed up and fired teargas at us. Rahul took a lot of pictures, which I’m excited to see.

In the meantime, Amanda’s boyfriend Sulo is doing interview after interview on TV and some for the international media. We can be hopeful if guys like that take up the leadership when the old lot will be ousted.

We are trying our best documenting everything on social media so the world can see what is happening here. The people in this country had been suffering for decades and it is now that we are truly raising our voices against the abuses that have gone unopposed for so long.

Lot of us are also losing our jobs. I have one year of university left and my freelance gig as a translator could be over if this new AI programme called ‘SmartScribe’ replaces it.

The guy who made ‘SmartScribe’ is a total weirdo. I know because he goes to the same university. His name is Parami and everybody absolutely hates him. I hope to graduate before this bot can put me out of the job, by that time the old regime would be overthrown and good people will be running things, making all the important decisions.

The youth of this country have so many good ideas, we know better than this old generation that had ruined it.

And there is the enigmatic Ravi. He is so hard to talk to. I got my hands on some of the posters and stickers they are doing, might not put them up just yet.

I know this has been a little short rant, but I have so much hope for the future.

This is Bhoomi, signing off.
