Special Task Force (STF) Headquarters Director, Constructions and former Senior Superintendent of Police in charge of Colombo, M. Abhayakoon has been appointed as the Security and Investigation Supervisory Officer of the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) by the Minister of Transport, Highways and Mass Media, Dr. Bandula Gunawardena.
His task will include overseeing the SLTB’s Special Investigation Division, Mobile Investigation Division and Security Division which will strengthen the security of depots and curb malpractices, theft, fraud and corruption as well as conduct mobile raids to check ticket fraud, intervention in disciplinary issues and taking legal steps.
A special mobile raid unit has also been set up under the supervision of the Superintendent of Security and Investigation of the SLTB. His aim is to make the SLTB a profitable institution under proper leadership that can end corruption.
