The number of players that make up a cricket team is 11, but Sri Lanka made dubious world history with a team of non-backstage players numbering 14 for the concluded 2023 World Cup where the team ended ninth out of ten nations in the fray.
According to past administrators of Sri Lanka Cricket, the numbers are mind boggling and of the number six are coaches. Missing from the list are laundry and food coaches according to one Sri Lanka player.
