Shenzhen, China – BYD, a leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles and power batteries, achieved a milestone as its six millionth new energy vehicle rolled off the production line at the Zhengzhou factory.

This achievement which establishes the manufacturer as the first company in the world to achieve such a milestone, underscores BYD’s unwavering commitment to pioneering advancements in the electric vehicle industry.

Having surpassed the five millionth to the six millionth new energy vehicle in three months, BYD’s rapid pace continues to set new benchmarks in production and sales. The six millionth new energy vehicle, named BAO 5, a super hybrid hardcore SUV under BYD’s professional personalised sub-brand Fangchengbao, was celebrated at a ceremony where representative employees shared the joy of this remarkable achievement.

The milestone comes in the backdrop of BYD’s most recent collaboration with Sri Lanka’s largest listed conglomerate, John Keells Holdings PLC (JKH), to provide a wide range of cutting edge New Energy Vehicles (NEVs), ushering in a new era of economical, eco-conscious mobility solutions for the Sri Lankan market.
