SLPP Colombo District Parliamentarian Gamini Lokuge demanded in Parliament on Friday, December 1 that the education qualifications of Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa should be disclosed to Parliament.
“All the parliamentarians here have been appointed by the people’s vote.
According to the Opposition Leader, everyone else here is uneducated and only he is educated.
I know there are people here who are more educated than his father. His father became President of this country. People of this country know his educational qualifications,” he said.
MP Lokuge said, “If you are criticising the educational qualifications of others, please present your educational qualifications to this House, because all these debates are on television. If not, people will think that he is the only educated person among a pack of idiots. Everyone here is more educated than his father. I challenge you to present your educational qualifications to this House. I have been in Parliament during his father’s time as well. So, we know the educational qualifications of his father. Therefore, I request that the educational qualifications of the Opposition Leader be presented to this House.”
