Kandy SC meets CH today
Defending rugby league champions Kandy SC will host CH & FC in their 2023/24 inter-club league rugby championship first round game, at Nittawela today.
Kick-off is at 3.45 p.m.
Led by former Kingswood College player Lavanga Perera, Kandy SC will look to make an early impression while CH & FC led by former Wesley College player Avantha Lee are certain to offer stiff resistance.
CH who are under the guidance of Sanath Martis are sure to impress with open rugby.

Snooker Academy
Susantha Boteju who holds the record of being nineteen times national snooker champion and a Sri Lanka cueist who took part in the Asian championship, has come out with a professional Snooker Academy, at 86/D, Kandy Road, Kengala.
This Academy is certain to guide the up and coming snooker players of the future and was opened yesterday (2).
Today there are many youngsters who have taken up to snooker. It is a sport that requires a lot of skill and precision, as well as strategy and patience.
Vidyartha come up to quarters
Vidyartha College led by Anishka Gunarathne did well in the Under-19 division two-tier schools limited overs cricket tournament by entering the quarter-finals. They then went down to St. John’s College Panadura by 74 runs, played at the Thurstan ground.
St. John’s batted first scored 180 for 9 in 50 overs and Vidyartha in replay scored 106 in 39.2 overs.
