LOLC DiviSaviya has launched the third phase of its educational initiative, coinciding with the spirit of Christmas.
This phase will set sight on expanding its outreach to schools with 100-150 students nationwide, marking a milestone of 3,000 schools reached by the culmination of the second phase, which was completed in November.
LOLC DiviSaviya unveils a Christmas edition, themed “Gifting the Future” throughout the month of December.Embracing the festive spirit of giving, the organisation is dedicated in making a difference in the lives of young minds, ensuring a brighter and more promising future for the nation.In echoing this seasonal concept, LOLC has curated a series of special activations strategically centred around 24 LOLC branches across the island with the participation of regional schoolchildren in emphasising the value of ‘gifting’ dreams.
Since its launch in February 2023, the LOLC DiviSaviya initiative has constantly demonstrated its commitment to addressing the nation’s needs by providing essential school material to students from grades 1 to 13. The initiative successfully reached 1400 schools in its inaugural phase and expanded its impact to 1600 schools during the second phase. With the commencement of the third phase, the initiative expects to cover 1204 additional schools. Group Managing Director/CEO of LOLC Group, Kapila Jayawardena said, “We are proud to announce another phaseof the LOLC DiviSaviya humanitarian effort. This Christmas, we are not only celebrating the season of joy but also embodying the spirit of giving through our ‘Gifting the Future’ campaign.
“We believe in leading by example, aiming to inspire a collective change of heart within our community. By the end of Phase 03, we will have reached more than 40% of the schools in this country, positively impacting the education of countless children.

The formal launch of LOLC DiviSaviya Phase three took place on December 5 at Excel World, Park Premier. The event witnessed the participation of over 350 students of selected schools in Colombo and its suburbs.
Deputy Chairman of the LOLC Group Ishara Nanayakkara, and Group Managing Director/CEO Kapila Jayawardena, symbolically presented the initial batch of school equipment to the students.
The ambitious project now totallingup to Rs. 2.5 billion, aims to distribute school supplies across all 25 districts of Sri Lanka. The initiative, titled “Daye Daruwange Anagathaya Wenuwen” (for the future of the children), hopes to alleviate the financial burden on families and enable students to focus wholeheartedly on their studies.
