Sri Lanka’s leading football academy Renown will conduct a first of its kind Four-a-side tournament “4v4 Goal Rush 2K23” today at the Race Course ground in Colombo.

The emphasis will be on the concept of play and enjoyment in a carnival atmosphere. Around 200 kids including boys and girls from Renown City Academy will participate in the tournament in the Under 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16 age groups.

The tournament will be played under the theme Goal Rush as children will get more opportunities to score goals. Kids in the 3 to 6 age group will also participate on that day with a series of fun games for them.

On the same day Renown Academy will invite children from SL Dragons in Galle to participate in a series of matches in the Under 10, 12 and 14 age groups.

SL Dragons was initiated by an enthusiast named Greg from England seven years ago and is presently coached by a Renown player from Egypt.

Renown has been involved in junior and grassroots football development in the country for several years by sponsoring major school football tournaments and running free football academies in different parts of the island in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.
