In the spirit of the upcoming festive season, the Drama Department of Lyceum International School, Nugegoda, organised an event to enchant audiences with an original Christmas musical, ‘The Star Story.’
The event took place on December 9, at Lyceum International School in Nugegoda and was a celebration of unity, peace, and love.
‘The Star Story’ encapsulated the essence of Christmas, weaving together a timeless narrative of the ‘Nativity’ and intertwining it with the challenges of today’s war-torn world, where religious differences have unfortunately become a significant divide. Through the power of music, dance, and drama, the production aims to deliver a message of hope and encourage everyone to shine a light in these challenging times.
Featuring a cast of 250 youngsters, aged between 5 and 12, the musical was a visual and auditory feast as they brought the Christmas story to life. The young performers showcased their talent by singing, dancing, and acting, creating a magical and unforgettable experience for the audience.
What sets ‘The Star Story’ apart is its diverse musical palette, covering genres ranging from light pop and jazz to rap and hip-hop. This eclectic mix ensured that the evening was toe-tapping, moving, and profoundly touching for all attendees. The musical was able to connect with the audience on a deep emotional level, providing a unique and spellbinding experience for individuals of all ages.
