Christmas tree lighting at MLH

Mount Lavinia Hotel (MLH) hosted the grand Christmas tree lighting ceremony on November 26. Dignitaries, corporate partners, hotel guests and the media attended the event.

The tree was lit up by four religious leaders and the US Ambassador Julie Chung under the fireworks and melodious performances of the choirs of St. Sebastian’s College, S. Thomas’ College, St. Sebastian’s College and St. Peter’s College.

Guests gathered around as the majestic tree which was adorned with twinkling lights and shimmering ornaments, creating a mesmerising spectacle that signified the beginning of the festive season at Mount Lavinia Hotel.

“It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Christmas is all about sharing, love, kindness and getting spiritually connected with your soul. As a hotel we have planned various activities to celebrate the grace of this season,” said Chief Operating Officer, MLH, Anura Dewapura revealed.” Dewapura also appreciated the engineering and landscaping teams that worked tirelessly to make the ceremony a success.

The colour theme for Christmas celebrations at Mount Lavinia Hotel is hot pink and silver, with the decorations adorned in these vibrant and festive shades. The choice of colors created a visually captivating and enchanting ambiance throughout the hotel, further adding to the joyous spirit of Christmas.

Under the theme of “Christmas around the world”, Mount Lavinia Hotel has planned a series of special events and activities. Throughout December, the hotel will serve country-themed Christmas Brunches on Sundays, allowing guests to experience the traditions and cultures of different countries. Each meal will be meticulously crafted to showcase the unique flavours and culinary delights of each culture, providing a truly immersive experience. To create an authentic seasonal atmosphere, a Christmas Eve Dinner will also be organised. This intimate affair will provide guests with the perfect opportunity to embrace the true essence of Christmas, surrounded by loved ones and the warm glow of candlelight. The crowning glory of the festivities will be the Christmas Day Brunch, an event that promises to be the star of the season. The planning for this brunch is on a grand scale, with an array of delectable dishes and a festive ambiance that will transport guests into a world of joy and celebration. It will be a feast for the senses, with flavours and aromas that epitomise the spirit of Christmas.

On December 17 – British Christmas Brunch, on December 24 – Christmas Eve Dinner, on December 25- Christmas Day Brunch at Empire Balroom and Christmas Day Dinner, on December 26 – Boxing Day Brunch and on December 31- New Year’s Eve Dinner Dance at the world-famous Terrace. -DF
