Sylvestrian U-13 cricketers do well
The under-13 cricket team St. Sylvester’s College are currently unbeaten in the inter-school A tournament in the first round. In their group the other schools who are involved are St. Joseph Vaz College Wennappuwa, Trinity College, Kingswood College, Vidyartha College and St. Anne’s College Kurunegala. They are expected to do well in the next round.
Kandy SC better watch out for Police
Kandy Sports Club will meet Police SC in their third game of the first round of the Nippon Paints inter-club rugby league tournament, today (17) at the Nittawela ground with kick-off at 3.45 pm.
Kandy SC are expected to exhibit their inherent rugby skills and assert their supremacy in no uncertain terms to maintain their superb performance in the first round against Police who are not out of contention for the title.
Police SC are also blessed with a talented side and are expected to be at full strength for this key game coached by one of the former Kandy SC players Nilfer Ibrahim who has done his best to put the Cops back in form.
Amantha makes the grade at Air Force
Amantha Perera a good knowledgeable rugby player to come out of Vidyartha College, is now a coach of the Air Force rugby side and from 2017 to date he is one of the strength and conditioning coaches.
He is a qualified IRB level two coach to attain this position. He joins other coaches like M. Waffil, Bimal Perera, Leonard de Silva, Nisal Meepage and Group Captain Chandana Deepthi for Air Force in a big way.
