Rathnawali SC win women’s T/10 cricket

Rathnawali SC, Gampaha beat Kalutara PCC to clinch the Runn Championship trophy at the inter-club T10 women’s cricket tournament conducted by the Colombo District Women Cricket Association to mark their 27th anniversary at St. Anthony’s College ground in Wattala.

Due to rain, the number of overs were reduced to six overs.

In the semi finals, Kalutara PCC 58/2 (Tharanga Wijayabandara 24no) beat Monarch SC, Horana 31/0 while Rathnawali SC 52/5 (Hashini Himaya 25) beat Bacilica CC (Sasika Kawshani 30)

Rathnawali SC 63/3 (Tharanga Wijayabandara 3 for 3) beat Kalutara PCC 37/2 (Tharanga Wijayabandara 11) in the final.

For the first time in women’s cricket history a special award was introduced to the best quality and disciplined player that went to the captain of Kalutara PCC Tharanga Wijebandara.

Special Awards:

Player of the tournament: Maleesha Herath (Kalutara PCC)

Best player of the final: Maleesha Madushani (Rathnawali SC)

Best Bowler: Kavishki Hashnika (Rathnawali SC)

Best Fielder: Anjali Gamhewage (Rathnawali SC)

Highest number of boundaries: Maleesha Wikramasighe (Rathnawali SC)

Most attractive running catch: Dewmini Pabasara (Rathnawali SC) and Sadamali Nimesha (Kalutara PCC)
