Sri Lanka’s motorcycle rider Nipun Dilanka rode his two-wheeler in excellent fashion to show off his colours and finish in fourth position in the final round of the Asian Championship held at the Talarc Circuit in the Philippines on December 16 and 17.
President of the Federation for Motorcycle Sports in Sri Lanka (FMSSL) Shane Gunawardena acknowledged the challenges faced by Dilanka and praised the exceptional skill displayed by him against formidable opponents from Japan, Taiwan, India, the Philippines, China, Singapore, Thailand, Iran, Hong Kong and Nepal.
Their relentless determination positioned Sri Lanka as a robust contender on the international racing platform.
Gunawardena lauded the rider’s global potential, praising the resilience as Sri Lanka secured an impressive fourth place despite the Philippines, India and Taiwan claiming top spots.
Facing tough competition, FMSSL’s riders reaffirmed Sri Lanka’s racing prowess, elevating its global standing. Gunawardena expressed pride in this resurgence, highlighting the riders’ skills that put the country back on the international racing map.
