The number of tourist arrivals in Sri Lanka from December 1 to 28 saw an all time recent best of 189,605. The best month for arrivals was last month after nearly four years where the figure touched 151,000.
The total number of arrivals from January to December 28, stood at 1,466,556. The previous year it was 719,978. With the number of arrivals in Sri Lanka being around 2,000 to 3,000 arrivals per day Sri Lanka will pass the 1.5 million arrival mark for 2023 which is also the best after nearly four years.
Number India with 40,057, which is 21% of total arrivals was best source destination for tourism while while Russia and UK followed. – SS
