Government school teachers of the Kurunegala and Puttalam districts will not be permitted to give private tuition to the students of the same school where they teach from tomorrow, January 1, 2024.
This will be enforced on the directive of North Western Province Governor Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena.
The Governor was speaking at the prize-giving 2023 at Holy Family Convent, Kurunegala
The relationship that exists between teachers and students now is not praiseworthy. This has to be changed and the teachers should act in an exemplary manner like the children’s parents to win their affection, he said.
“We have to restore the broken ties between teachers and students again and teachers need to be friendly to win the children’s hearts, “the Governor added.
